myRent Alternative for Rent Tracking & Arrears NZ
Quick question - are you reading this as a:
myRent tracks that rent is due but does not watch your bank account to confirm it was paid. RentManager imports a bank CSV and matches the payments automatically, removing the re-keying step.
RentManager matches imported CSV bank payments to each tenancy automatically and flags arrears immediately. Direct NZ Open Banking/CDR sync is planned after accreditation and is not live yet.
Self-managing your rentals?
See RentManager on real data first - no signup, nothing to set up.
myRent will tell you what rent is due and when. What it will not do is watch your bank account and confirm the money actually landed - that part is still on you, every week, for every property.
What's a myRent alternative for tracking rent automatically?
The gap is bank reconciliation. myRent's rent ledger records what should be paid, but confirming what was actually paid means checking a bank statement by eye against myRent's record - or against your own spreadsheet if you keep one on the side. On more than one or two properties, that is a real chunk of time every week, and it is easy for a late or partial payment to sit unnoticed for a few days.
RentManager closes that gap today by importing your bank CSV and matching each payment to the right tenancy automatically. Direct NZ Open Banking/Consumer Data Right sync is planned after accreditation and is not live yet. Arrears show up the moment a payment is late or short, not the next time you happen to look.
Does it handle partial payments and part-weeks correctly?
Rent periods are calculated from the tenancy's actual start date, and payments are allocated first-in-first-out against those periods, so a partial payment shows as exactly that - "PARTIAL $800/$1,600, $800 owed" - rather than being silently absorbed or lost against the wrong week. A reminder only clears once the arrears are genuinely at zero, so a partial payment does not make an overdue rent problem look solved.
What else comes with the rent-tracking side of RentManager?
- Automatic arrears reminders that only fire when there is real arrears, and stop as soon as it is cleared.
- A Tribunal-ready arrears schedule if a dispute ever gets that far, built from the same ledger you already use day to day.
- One flat price for your whole portfolio - see the full pricing comparison in our myRent side-by-side comparison.
If bank-transaction matching and arrears tracking are the reason you are looking at a myRent alternative, you can move across without re-typing anything - upload your current tenancy agreement at rentmanager.nz/upload-agreement and we set up the property, tenant, rent and dates for you.
