How we calculate this
We ingest MBIE's official Market Rent statistics, which are drawn from every bond lodged with Tenancy Services. Because a bond is lodged for essentially every new tenancy, this is the most complete rent dataset in New Zealand, and it reflects rents that were actually agreed rather than what a listing asked for. We refresh it monthly.
